How to Prepare for a PBA

For the Personal Benefit Analysis, you will need a fairly recent check stub. It has CODES on it that tell me how your benefits are set up now, so I can tell you what happens at retirement. I can work from a printout of your pay period information, but a real check stub is better.

Optional items: If you ever received a letter from Social Security with information about your benefit payment, it would be useful to have those numbers. Also, if you're a participant in Thrift Savings Plan, it would be helpful to have a recent TSP statement. Finally, the government's formula for calculating your FERS or CSRS annuity (pension) payment is based on your length of service. It would be good to know your hire date, the day you started your full time service with USPS.

I use a booklet during the benefits analysis. I fill it out for you as we talk. I send everything TO YOU when we finish. So you don't have to take notes. But I do encourage you to ask questions. My goal is to help you get the most out of your benefits and the most out of your retirement. I look forward to speaking with you.
